For-profit and non-profit organizations are attempting to provide clean drinking water to people in the Developing World. Often, these organizations undercut an expensive bottled water market by selling water below market prices through distributed “water kiosks.” In order to sustainably sell water at such a low price point, water providers need to streamline their operations and keep their operating costs down. Three primary problems that the majority of these companies face include high travel costs, uncertainty, and unreliable data about kiosk operations. Flowbit builds a low-cost hardware and software solution that allows water providers in developing countries to remotely monitor and control their water systems. Our technology provides three essential capabilities: Real-time monitoring of sensors, wireless control over systems, and access to big data collection over an entire smart water network. We turn rural water delivery from reactive management to preventative management.
